разг. черномазый, ниггер Оскорбительное слово, которым американские расисты называют негра (афро-американца African-Americans). По происхождению английское слово XVI в. neger, заимствованное из испанского и португальского NEGRO = черный. Слово широко употреблялось в американском варианте английского языка расистами в США, например "рай черномазых" "nigger heaven" = балкон в сегрегированном кинотеатре, "черномазики" "nigger babies" = конфеты черного цвета и т. д. Ныне абсолютно недопустимо в речи белых, хотя может встречаться в литературе ("Nigger Jim" в повести "Приключения Гекльберри Финна" Huckleberry Finn М. Твена).
